Future Seal

Well, I found the best, non-weight workout around...or at least that's what I think. This week in my "free" time (which really wasn't free b/c I probably should've been doing reading for systematic) I managed to locate an 18 week workout program based on the navy seal training program. It's going to be painful, but very good. To sum it all up, at the end of the eighteen weeks I SHOULD (key word there) be able to do 400 pushups, 500 situps, 60 pullups, 300 dips MWF and run 6 miles a day, maintaining a 7:30 minute mile the whole time. 'Tis going to be fun...especially the mandated 4 quarts of water a day.

What's interesting is the swimming part of the workout routine (which, though it is one of the best aerobic excercises available, I will not be doing)...the requirement for week 15 is to swim 75 continuous minutes w/ fins 4-5 days a week. That's crazy...but very good for you.

At the end of this whole rigorous ordeal I hope to be a man who is a little more in shape than the one that started the program...

Do they assume that when you begin you are in the physical condition of a Marine beginning the SEAL training? Or do they assume you are in moderately good physical condition, or a total couch potato? Sounds interesting, for you, that is. It would kill a middle-aged, past her prime, lady like me!
