mixed up phone calls
The oddest saga has been going on with my phone line. The other day I was standing next to my phone and answering machine. I called my home line from my cell to see if the answering machine would work. Oddly enough, my phone never rang, but someone picked up and said hello. On the presupption that I'd called the wrong number, I checked my phone bill, and learned that I hadn't dialed an incorrect number, I dialed mine.It gets stranger...I've been working on getting my computer setup to act as a fax machine. Part of this involves making sure it can receive faxes from an external fax machine. So, today, I tried to use the fax at work to send something to my house. And someone answered the phone..."such and such a law firm." After several tries every time I got the same thing...a law firm. I googled my phone number and learned from the search that there are about 6 different people listed to my exact phone number. 4 of them are lawyers, and 2 are residential...none of them are mine.
In the end, I ended up calling bellsouth repair and they said they'd have a technician look at it and have it "fixed" (hopefully) by 7 pm monday.
