Eat, Eat, Eat

You know, I still haven't managed to eat 600 grams of carbohydrates yet this week. Just to give an example, here's a synopsis of what I ate the day I tried the hardest to crack 600.

2 glasses of milk
2 glasses of cranberry grape juice
1 cup of rice (equiv to 4 servings)
1 cup of chow mein (1 serving)
2 cans of mandarin oranges
2 bowls (approx 3 cups) of salad (spinach, romaine, carrots, and some other kind of lettuce I don't remember) w/ cheese and dressing
3-4 homemade pnut butter chip cookies
2 oreos
2 hamburger buns w/ butter and pepperoni

All tallied up, that's about 400-450g of carbohydrates. And that's a lot of food...if I could've held more, I would've eaten more. I gave up on counting how much I eat, I just try to eat high carb foods. Every once 'n a while I'll tally it up just to see how I'm doing, I almost made it yesterday w/o trying...I was happy. The one thing to be careful about when pounding in the carbs is sugar. Carbohydrates come from sugar, so it's recommended to eat foods that are "complex carbohydrates" which take longer to break down and will give you energy over a longer period of time.

You can try making brown rice and eating whole wheat bread which is high in fiber and less processed. Overall, do high carbs help or hurt low blood sugar? Can you tell a difference in your energy level? Is it worth it, yet?
